Thanks to the delays of the Dutch Railway Company (called NS) I was pretty late in 013. The support act called A Thousand Reasons said their "thank you and goodnight" even before I even got there. So I basically missed their whole performance. From what I`ve heard they did a nice show, based on a highly overdose of Incubus influences, only with a more Nu-metal approach. Nothing to remember but still a nice warming up… Incubus opened with "Privilege" (taken from their latest album "Make Yourself") and set the already hot and steamy 013 totally on fire! The place was packed and sold out completely, filled with true fans singing every single word along. A very warm welcome for Incubus in Tilburg, that`s for sure! After all these years, he`s still one of The place was packed and sold out completely, filled with true fans singing every single word along. A very warm welcome for Incubus in Tilburg, that`s for sure! The stage was built up nihilistic with only a big white curtain to fill up the space, accompanied by a modest but pleasant lightshow. Eye catcher of this band is without a doubt Brandon Boyd on vocals. And I tell you for sure that`s he`s more than just a pretty boy. He`s a fine and well talented musician, playing his jumbo a couple of times during the set and a didgeridoo as an encore. The entertainment value of the show itself wasn`t really high, especially because except from Brandon, all the other band members hardly made any contact with the audience. The sound however was solid and beautiful. Thanks to the unique style of Incubus (a crossover mix of heavy guitars, funky rhythms and turntables samples) it`s absolutely impossible to stand unmoved on your feet. The only way to have a full "Incubus experience" is to jump, sing and dance! Songs played this night were a mixture of all the old and new material. Of course they played favorites like "Make Yourself"(title track from their latest CD), "Favorite Things" and "Pardon me" (both taken from the album S.C.I.E.N.C.E.). But to hear songs like "Bless" and "Nabula" actually performed live was something extra special… The "big bang" for this night was when Incubus came back to do their encore. They couldn`t go home without playing the song everybody waited for, "A Certain Shade of Green", guarantied morshpit proof!. After this moment of blood, sweet and tears Incubus left the building…… Well, it isn`t.
