It’s good to know that Utrecht is a nice city in the middle of the Netherlands. It’s easy to get there, but it’s very difficult to find your way sometimes. Especially if you want to park your car and the doors of the car park won’t open. But hey, I’ve learned my lesson so we went so early that even that inconvenience couldn’t stop us to get to Tivoli just in time to see the beginning of NG-PRO…

NG-PRO
It’s the second year this time that I see these Dutchmen perform. This time there were more people present than the time before (when they opened for Gail Of God), but both band members didn’t seem to care too much. The live show was even more static than before.

NG-PRO possesses some good songs, but they also got some songs that aren’t impressive at all. Songs like “Winter” and “Angels” keep them on the positive side. These songs and some up-tempo electro-meets-guitar songs show that these two Dutchmen have a promising future, but they are not there just yet…

[SITD]
What a disappointment. Carsten Jacek had to shout way too much to be heard. It didn’t make him sound okay. On the other hand their show was difficult to judge, because their new album isn’t released yet.

Waking me up were the remix of the Pzycho Bitch song “Wake Up” and “Hurt” (from the SnuffEP). Conveniently [SITD] ended their show with a devastating version of their club hit “Snuff Machinery” so the show didn’t end too negatively…

BLUTENGEL
And we all came for one of the projects of Chris (Christian) Pohl. The link to Terminal Choice was obvious, because we have seen the iron crosses before. BLUTENGEL is musically a whole different story though.

The combination of male voice with female voices of Constance Ruding and Eva Poelzing (although she mostly sings alone) with the quiet dark electro Gothic hymns never reminds you of that of the industrial masters.

Have to admit that Chris is definitely singing better without the wall of sound behind him. Even both ladies sing more than OK tonight in spite of all the evil rumours before. The combination of theatre and music performance is welcome and adds a whole other dimension to the music. This way you got a complete picture of what a live show should be.

BLUTENGEL is great music and a good live show. It all started with the intro of the new CD Angel Dust. During this song there was a man with a frock and some lights on his fingertips. After that the band walked through the wonderful world of BLUTENGEL with songs like “Weg Zu Mir”, “Seelenschmerz”. “Die With You”, “Children Of The Night”, “Our Time”, “Black Wedding” and “Vampire Romance 1”.

In the back there is one man that handles the electronic drums and there is always something happening (from dance to theatre act). In the end BLUTENGEL convinced and the band definitely showed that a live performance can be something special…

It’s time to dance… CYBERLINE play the best Gothic/ electro possible to get the people moving. Pitifully enough we have to leave early, because some people have to work very early the next day. Thank Goth it isn’t me…
