Wow, DAS ICH seems to be very popular in Utrecht. We had to wait a while to get inside… ACCESS DENIED And when we were inside ACCESS DENIED played already. There were only a few people inside, but the people standing before the door of EKKO didn’t miss much. The band mixed electro with guitar in an unprofessional way. Although the last few songs surely had its charm the band never gave the idea to be competitive to the well-known names. Especially the voice of the singer was out of key. Funniest moment was when Bruno Kramm stood before the stage and nodded his head to the music. He was surely pleased with the music of ACCESS DENIED and proved once again that judging music is very personal. DAS ICH They were somewhat agitated by the fact that the audience didn’t shout or reacted on anything they said or did. Most of the public was dancing and seemed to have the time of their live. Still, the band expected a bigger reaction. In the end they got the response they wanted. It seemed that DAS ICH wouldn’t return on stage after their set to play an encore. When that occurred the people started shouting for more. And finally they did. DAS ICH again proved to be a good live band. The strange movements of Stefan Ackermann kept your attention. The moving panels that both keyboard player’s use were present again, but didn’t impress as much as at the Castle Party because of the fact that the stage was much smaller. Therefore they couldn’t move that much. Musically I noticed that the older songs are more ‘in your face’. Listen to songs like “Gottes Tod” (although there seems to be a remix that’s called “Gott Ist Tod” –B.) and “Kain Und Abel”. These songs sound much more electro beat oriented. The songs from their latest record ( Anti’Christ) got more details and depth. Greatly performed songs like ‘Engel’, ‘Sodom Und Gomorra’ and ‘Vater’ proved that. In the end the concert left me with some mixed emotions. On the one hand the feeling of euphoria about the music, on the other hand the feeling of disappointment that the band members were too busy with the lack of the expected reaction. There was absolutely no need for that… (Pics by Nicky Danen) (Review & Pics: Beautevil ) |
