Mudvayne
DIG (the vid.clip of this song is wicked), was the first song one got to hear from this band which comes from a land far far away and are here to kill us (opening words of MUDVAYNE). Where did KuD leave his Blue beard / goatee???? The audience, at first, just stood there, baffled maybe, by these guys on stage, suffering from episodes (which is a good thing, nice n sick heheh). But when they set in their second song for that night, the so-called moshpit was created.

Songs like : `Death Blooms`, `Cradle`, `Prod`, `Nothing to Gein` etc passed the venue and were eagerly welcomed by the `die-hard` MUDVAYNE-audience. All these songs can be heard on their CD; L.D. 50… approx. 50 Guilders for a cd at the merchandise area.

The sound was phat and the groove in their music was THERE. For the ones who never have seen these guys live before it must have been a treat aswell as something they haven`t actually met before.

As far as the audience could see, hear and experience the band played a terrific set and they, without a doubt, gained more fans….in other words - good gig. (CH)

Static-X
STATIC-X exploded into their set with some new material. The fact that nobody had heard their latest album ("Machine") yet didn`t seem to matter much.

The crowd went absolutely crazy. It was a pity that the band played too loud, because now you couldn`t hear too much of the nuances in their music. Songs like `Push It`, `Love Dump` and `I`m With Stupid` made you want to bounce up and down.

The new material (like `Shit In A Bag` and `Aargh`?) sounded even harder and dirtier than their previous material. STATIC-X proved however that industrial driven metal got the future and that the band almost made the same growth as fellow band Spineshank into a heavier and more explosive sound. (RS)

(HED) pe
Next in line was (HED)PE. Although the band calls themselves on record (HED) Planet Earth they still claim live to be (HED)P.E. It`s still a pity that this band needs some (long) breaks between their songs, because this way you don`t get the surely present flow of the music.

The groove orientated metal of songs like `Killing Time`, `Bartender`, `I Got You` and `Jesus (of Nazareth)` are live brilliantly performed. The breaks between the songs and the current wave of rock attitude (`Say YEAH!!` and `Make some noise for…`-and follow all the band names above) disturbs the fact that the band has grown into one of the leading bands in their genre. (RS)

Papa Roach
As the lights were dimmed the crowd immediately was drawn towards the stage. One question though……why the `hey-let`s-Bang-my-mic-onto-my-head`?

Did it improve his screaming after? Who knows….And where the hell did all these screaming girls come from??? For a second there it was like a boyband concert, but that was dealt with quickly as the guys immediately stood their ground in the moshpit.

The sound was good, maybe a tad too loud yet the crowd loved the performance.
PAPA ROACH played a set which can be found on their latest cd…. The audience people don`t know how to stop being energetic.

The tunes which came rolling out of them speakers are mostly groove oriented. For the people who wouldn`t like the whole Papa Roach concept, you`d have to give `em credit for performing like this, the sound was good, and the show was fun. The guys know how to entertain an audience and they use that skill. (CH)

Slipknot
"Iowa" is their new record and SLIPKNOT is their name. The band becomes more and more a theatre act. The music seems to be more and more second in place. Fans of the heavier music of these guys don`t have to be afraid.

The songs from the new album are maybe even harder than on their debut CD. Although the crowd goes crazy again (you ask yourself where they got all the energy from), the music is monotonous. The band goes full force and with a lot of strength, but forget to use the possibilities that a band of nine has to offer (or it has to be the drum `n bass part in the middle of the set).

If you see that the aggression on stage is even present when a band member is in the crowd makes their reputation even more doubtful. SLIPKNOT seems to be repeating themselves and is in danger to become their own gimmick. Songs like `Spit It Out` and `Wait And Bleed`, that gave the band their current success, seems not be repeated on "Iowa".

The band chooses for a much more rougher and tougher way. Although most of the crow landed on their knees for this, there were luckily some people sane enough to keep up standing (and be counted for).(RS)
