Okay, here they are: Y&T in their 2003 line-up: Dave Meniketti, Phil Kennemore, Leonard Haze and John Nymann. Wow! Y&T have returned to the stage - with original members Meniketti, Haze, Kennemore and Nymann (more or less original. He has been a co-songwriter and background vocalist with the band since the 1980s). With this team, the band considers Y&T reunited and thus making a dream come true for all the old fans.

For years Y&T was the most requested supporting act on the hard rock road, touring with rock icons including like Ozzy Osbourne, AC/DC and Motley Crüe. Y&T has sold over 4 million albums and has recorded 16 LPs and three greatest hits collections since their 1975 inception. In 1997 plans were formed to reunite in the classic 1980s line-up and now in 2003 that day is here. The glory of the Y&T sound will be heard live again, tonight at the sold-out (850 people) Podium in Hardenberg.

Right from the start it’s clear that the band and especially frontman Meniketti haven’t lost their capacity to perform their wonderful music in an energetic and passionate way. Listening to the sound of the voice and guitars of these giants is simply great. After all these years the songs still are very strong and have surely survived the test of time.

In 1,5 hours Y&T show us why they were one of the finest hard rock acts of the 1980s. I didn’t plan on mentioning any song titles here (check the setlist below) but I do have to name one. A song that stands out by far: “I Believe In You”. This was and still is the ultimate hard rock ballad ever to me and hearing this classic composition being played live right in front of me was just too much.

Superb song, superb show, superb band. Y&T: rock on!
