2 Ton Predator
Due to the fact that a lot of venues in Holland have decided to organize dance-events after the concerts 2 Ton Predator climbs the stage at 20:00 hours. To me this Swedish band was totally unknown. But they sure as hell knew how to impress me. With a monstrous groove, 2 Ton Predator started of their "stoner" orientated set a bunch of songs form their new release "Boogie" like "Freak 200", "Down Right Evil" and "Last Boost".

2 Ton Predator has some capable musicians in their band and the perfect P.A. sound made this gig one to remember. The combination of stoner rock and death metal isn`t really new anymore but certainly tastes like more. And the rest of the relatively small audience agreed with me.

Cathedral
With their latest release "Endtyme" in the pocket doom rockers of the first hour, Cathedral, started of their set with some new songs. I have to admit that Cathedral never really has been my band so I also don`t know that much of their repertoire. But the presentation of front man Lee always looks enjoyable. The rest of the band also seemed to have the right feel for a good concert.

The typical doom and stoner rock Cathedral displays certainly delivered the band a large amount of fans all around the world. Also tonight one could see that Cathedral still is very popular under the doom, gothic but also metal audience in Holland. Most of the people sang along with Cathedral`s most popular songs like "Witchfinder". But when, after almost an hour, Lee hung himself with his microphone cable this concert came to an end. Nice gig guys!

Entombed
At the introduction tone to "Chief Rebel Angel", Entombed entered the stage. Immediately noticeable was that huggable main man L.G. Petrov was very intoxicated, to say the least, but looking all the more amused by tonight`s crowd. And as soon as "CRA" kicked off, the crowd itself seemed just as amused. The new songs were welcomed with frantic headbanging and a reasonable moshpit, giving good hopes for the sales figure of the Morning Star album, but things really went out of hand with... "Out Of Hand".

Even though Petrov`s vocals sounded too hoarse and raw to really fit the music, it didn`t matter. Entombed might have lost a lot of it`s followers over the years, but the people turning up at the shows nowadays definitely deserve the predicate "loyal" and they enjoy the show what happens anyway. `Whatever happens` in this case being a more-than-killer set list with songs like "Say It In Slugs", "Drowned", "Hollow Man", "Seeing Red", "To Ride, Shoot Straight And Speak The Truth" and "Living Dead" (which the band hasn`t played live for years).

Even the new Slayer-ish song "Ensemble Of The Restless" raised total hell and had my piercing being torn out of my eyebrow. But that wasn`t all: the encore, which was supposed to exist of "Serpent Speech" and "Damn Deal Done" was extended with covers of Dead Horse and of course "Night Of The Vampire", something the band hadn`t planned to do but did so because of reactions of the crowd. Closing the night was an insanely passionate rendition of "Left Hand Path", and the roaring applause afterwards once more confirmed Entombed`s status in the metal world.
