Alquin Alquin is a band I would not have known if I wouldn`t have been writing for Rockezine. A few months ago I received their double cd and a live DVD to review for our site. As you can see in our archives, I was quit impressed by this old band from Delft. The band started out in 1972 and came to an end in 1977, but last year the band got together again for their `One More Night` tour. The chemistry has returned and this year a new album will be released. Tonight the band played in my hometown Nijmegen as part of the famous `Vierdaagse Feesten`. I`d expected a small crowd largely consisting of so called wheel-chair rockers. I was far off. The open air stage, on which the band was playing, was the main stage during the `Vierdaagse Feesten`. When I arrived, the quayside where the stage was situated was nicely packed with people ranging from twenty to fifty years of age. It didn`t take long to find out that Alquin has quite a few fans in Nijmegen. The band looked relaxed even though I`m quite sure that this was the largest crowd the band has played for since they got back together. I already wrote that the band has stated that the chemistry has returned and this was quite obvious to the people in the crowd; smiling musicians, enjoying their music and enjoying the enthusiastic crowd.
