As I heard a lot about this project of the well-known Dutch guitarist Arjen Lucassen, I was curious how they would be on stage. When I entered the Kade I was surprised about the number of people that was there. The Kade was filled with enthusiastic people, varied from young till old.

Dragonfly
Stream of Passion brought the gothic metal band Dragonfly to support them. Obvious was that this band likes to make music, Klarine Buist, who did the vocals, was laughing all the time. Her joy was infectious, the public was enthusiast about this support and showed that with lots of clapping hands.

With songs like "Another Fear", "The man in the mirror" and "Awake to Revive", which are all from their first full-length "Falling Down", Dragonfly showed that they were able to amuse us with a varied gig.

Stream of Passion
After Dragonfly, finally it was time for Stream of Passion. The intro started, and when that one ended, we were immediately blown away by their energetic perform. They started with "Spellbound" and "Passion", and everybody was singing with them. After a little break, they continued with "Wherever you are".

The voice of Marcela Bovio was thrilling, hardly ever I heard a vocalist with that much natural ability. After some computer sounds, tracks like "Calliopeia" and "Haunted", "To the Quasar", "Deceiver" and "Vigil" followed. As the energy of all the musicians seemed to be inexhaustible, they continued again after the sounds of a car crash. "Nostalgia" was announced and everybody started singing and clapping. For me this was definitely one of the best songs of this evening.

The atmosphere was jolly, everybody was talking, laughing and singing with each other. After "Nostalgia", "My friends electric" and the fantastic "Out in the real world" followed. The lightshow was impressive, and matched with the music.

“Castle Hall” ended and they left the stage to return in a few minutes for two extra songs, “Black Holio” and another one I didn’t recognized. They thanked their fans and left the stage again. Now they came back one last time for, again, two extra songs, “Embrace the Storm” and “Love”.

This gig can be outlined in one word; tremendous. Hardly ever I witnessed such an overwhelming perform.
