Korpiklaane
The only thing I knew from Korpiklaani before they hit the stage was this video and the review Romana wrote a few weeks ago.
It’s a been a while back since I went to a concert without knowing anything of the band.

I was surprised that Vera (this is the venue where it took place) was full of people. I didn’t know that folkmetal was that popular. The only music with folk in it I know are: the Pogues, Flogging Molly, Dropkick Murphy’s and the Tossers. But these are all punk bands with folk influences. This is really the first time I heard a metal band with folk influence.
Like I earlier said the venue was filled with people and when the band started the people started partying and dancing if they were in the dark ages. Everyone was having fun and almost everyone knew the songs they were playing. I think Korpiklaani played all their greatest hits and the people enjoyed it with lots of beer.

It’s really fun for me to see that there is a genre in metal that I really don’t know. And that this genre has got a lot of fans. Korpiklaani uses a violin and an accordion. The band sings about (as every folk band) beer, fun in live and small places where they come from.
Korpiklaani surprised me with a good show. Folkmetal isn’t my thing but this band shows that it can be fun once a year.
