To be entirely honest, this gig was sort of a joke for me. I had the first laugh when the lights dimmed and the band BLEW the first notes into a packed Doornroosje. When I had entered the room my eye fell on two notes. The first informed the crowd that it had to be silence during the show (no one else seemed to have noticed). The high volume of the sound made this note simply hilarious. The second note informed fans and photographers that they were allowed to take pictures only during the first three tracks (ofcourse without flash). Since almost every single stagelight was dimmed, this note also proved to be somewhat hilarious, or maybe even sarcastic. It also showed little respect for photographers taking time and effort to make this band look good.

After a couple of songs I decided to leave the building. The sound was way too loud, it was impossible to take decent pictures, there was hardly anything to watch on stage (I have never seen a more static performance, only after my eyes adjusted to de `lights`, I saw that there were actualy three people on stage in stead of the single one I could see during the first few songs), half of the music came from tape and Hooverphonic in general proved to be not my cup of tea.
