Moodswing Moodswing is a Dutch band that plays alternative music. I thought the music was a mix between a little bit of Radiohead and Muse and lots of Nirvana. The only thing that was OK about this 3-headed band, was the drummer. The singer wasn’t able to hit a decent note and he ruined the performance for me. His guitar sound was also horrible. There were a couple of moments where he was going crazy, but it was for no obvious reason since the music was never heavy or special enough to do so. It’s a nice idea to get the crowd going, but make sure that the music is OK first. Anathema The intro tape started and it hurt my ears. Damn, the volume was way too loud. The sound quality in general wasn’t very good and this was mainly in the beginning of the show. Opening song was ‘Pressure’ from the latest ‘A Fine Day To Exit’ album, followed by the first four songs of the ‘Judgement’ record. Lots of songs were being played from this emotional album. The sound got better after these songs, but it still wasn’t the greatest. It’s a pity, since with so many emotional songs played you need a good sound. But still the show was very enjoyable. ‘Empty’ from ‘Alternative 4’ made things going for the crowd. More songs from the new album were played and that included the excellent ‘Looking Outside Inside’ and the title track. ‘Looking Outside Inside’ starts slow but gets heavier as it proceeds. Overall, the songs sounded much heavier on stage than on the albums. Tracks from ‘Judgement’ had already been played a lot, but at the end they surprisingly played the touching ‘One Last Goodbye’ and one of my personal favorites the title track ‘Judgement’. The instrumental ‘2000 & Gone’ was the last song and it gave Vincent Cavanagh the chance to thank the crowd for their warm applause. A special thanks went to the ‘coffeeshops that are present in Holland’, which made everyone leave with a smile. The guys left the stage one by one, with Vincent being the last one to leave. He kept playing until his brother Danny walked past him and turned off the speakers. And gone they were…
