Green Lizard
The talented Dutch band Green Lizard is working very hard on their new album at the moment. This follow-up to the succesful debut cd "Identity" is planned to be released soon. The setlist tonight shows mainly new songs, with an occasional `oldy`.

With a very good sound and a minimum on lights, Green Lizard proves to be at the top of their genre. Good songs, well performed and a very energetic on stage attitude, that`s what this band is about. Here`s their setlist from tonight: "Leather & Machine", "Prove Me Wrong", "Soothe Me", "Self Control", "Under Pressure", "Common God", "Erase You" and "Die Fucker". Keep this band in mind!

Dredg
Dredge is really something different. Should we call this emocore, indie, pop or something in between? Fact is, that these four guys from the USA produce some extraordinary music, which can hardly be described let alone labelled (IF we should label music at all?, JG).

Their music is appreciated fairly well by the audience at the 013. Dredge recently released the "Leitmotif" record. Check this one out and experience tunes like "A Crescent Moon in a Morning Sky" and "Cease the Exile" yourself.

Alien Ant Farm
With their well-known M. Jackson cover "Smooth Criminal", A.A.F. has become popular almost faster than the speed of light. Having listened to the entire new "Anthology" album, one can not say that these guys are top of the bill composers. Their own songs lack originality and most of all plain and simple quality. We`ve heard it all before (The Offspring, Greenday etc.) and it gets boring pretty soon.

Well, the 55 (!) minutes gig from this evening doesn`t contribute very much changing this opinion. The bandmembers don`t seem to enjoy the show themselves very much, except for the bassplayer Tye Zamora who proves to be quite a comedian.

Especially singer Dryden Mitchell has an "I`m not interested at all in doing this show" look on his face. He tries to be symphatic in asking us how we`re doing and thanking the 013 crewmembers for making this show possible, but it doesn`t seem very sincere. Looking at your watch several times during a gig and singing several parts with your back turned to the crowd don`t help very much, does it?

No, A.A.F. won`t get another 1.500 people to show up at their next concert in this country to listen to songs like "Movies" and "Courage", that`s for sure.

A.A.F. is like a hamburger at MacDonalds: it`s presented as `true American quality`, but has no real content.
