Peter Pan Speedrock After their great show at the Noorderslag festival (one of Holland’s most important festivals for up and coming bands) Peter Span Speedrock`s tourschedule went berserk. Lots of extra shows were added after that. Only a short set tonight as they`re the support act. The Amsterdam rock crowd is renowned for their lameness. Peter Pan Speedrock rocks hard though, as always. They started when the joint was half full. By the end of the show it was crowded and most of the audience enjoyed PPS`s AC/DC- and Motorhead-influenced rock `n` roll. Nodding heads all around. Not the beer throwing slamdancing and stagediving madness from the Noorderslag festival. Far from it, but as I said, this is Amsterdam. After playing hundreds of shows in Germany, Belgium, Holland and the USA the band has become one of tightest in its genre. They`re oozing self-confidence and radiating energy. Most songs are from their two latest albums Killermachine and their best yet Premium Quality...Serve Loud! Faster than Zeke in Auf Der Axe and as heavy as Motorhead in groovemonster Big Toy. If there`s ever going to be another Dynamo Open Air these guys deserve a spot on the mainstage. Prime Time. I`m sure they can handle a crowd that big. Andrew W.K. Good musicians, each of them. Judging by their looks they played different types of music before they joined Andrew W.K. But there`s nothing diverse about the music tonight and that`s a pity. Their late seventies/early eighties hard rock is fairly simple. Every song has got the same rhythm and tempo. All riffs sound alike and you just don`t remember the tunes. If they can improve their songwriting they could become a great band. It`s too monotonous now.
