This is another edition of Paaspop in Zieuwent, a small village in the region Achterhoek-NL. Well organised by an enthusiastic team of volunteers, the 2002 Paaspop features a few "REZ-alike bands", next to a hiphop act such as the Dutch Brainpower for instance.

Agrésion
First band we get to watch is Agrésion. With a lot of anger in their approach these guys throw their nu-metal at the crowd. The riffing is tight and the vocals raw. Nothing new really. Or? It seems to be done with a fair amount of honesty which adds something extra to this band.

Green Lizard
Another nu-metal band? Not really, allthough the first few songs seems to have to same angry touch as the ones from Agrésion. The guys play a lot of new stuff from their upcoming album and there`s a lot of moshing and crowd-surfing going on.

Their frontman is a pretty energetic artist with a strong voice. Songs like "Leather & Machine", "Prove Me Wrong" and "Soothe Me" sound convincing.

Die Happy
This is the very first show from Die Happy in our country. What a band! Ha! These Germans around a very strong female singer sure present us some very solid and exciting songs.

No wonder Ariola/BMG already offered them a worldwide contract. Their music and vocals sound a bit like Guano Apes or Skunk Anansie, but Die Happy is far more powerful.

Main reasons for this are the heavy guitar riffs and the frontwomans strong voice. Doesn`t matter if she jumps or runs around, the vocals remain perfectly in tune. Respect!

Die Happy will be a hype this summer during the festivals or right after the summer in the clubs. Go and see them live, they kick ass!

Kane
Having seen Kane at the huge HMH in A`dam (5.500 capacity) just a few weeks ago, their show from tonight is slightly different. This is a much smaller stage and not every visitor is a Kane fan which means the atmosphere is also somewhat different.

There are no real suprises in the setlist. It`s a quality performance, nothing more and nothing less. This is also one of the first performances from the `new` Kane featuring the ex-HandSome3Some bassplayer.

He fits in really well with his swinging style. Hopefully their tour with the Simple Minds will bring them the international breakthrough they`ve been aiming at.
