Debase
This fairly unknown band is tonights opening act. The few people at Plato who pay attention are not very enthusiastic. Debase isn`t a bad band, but has not much originality to offer. Straight forward rock or metal if you please with raw vocals, that`s what they`re all about.

Seven Witches
The same goes for these guys, except for the fact that Seven Witches features two well-known musicians: bassplayer Joey Vera (Armored Saint) and guitarist Jack Frost (ex-Savatage).

Songwise, this band hasn`t got much more to offer than obligate heavy metal from the 80`s. A bunch of unknown musicians from for instance The Netherlands playing exactly the same music would never have scored a recorddeal and European tour with Annihilator. Makes you think...

Annihilator
Again these symphatic Canadians are touring Europe and with only some 250 visitors, Jeff Waters and his men hit the stage with "Murder", followed by "Ultra Motion" and "The Box".

First things first: what a ridiculous volume! It seems like the soundengineer wants to fuck up our hearing for good tonight. Too bad that he doesn`t adjust the volume to the relatively small venue and amount of visitors. Here`s the rest of the setlist, if you`re in search of your favourite:

"Denied", "Blackest Day", "King Of The Hill", "Torn", "Lunatic", "Set The World On Fire", "I Am In Command", "Demon", "Never, Neverland", "Striker", "Blizz", "Phantasmoghoria", "Crystal Ann/Alice In Hell" and "Shallow Grave" (the well-known AC/DC fan Jeff Waters honours his idols).

Like always, Annihilator gives the crowd a very tight and energetic show allthough the current line-up doesn`t get the same crazy power and adrenaline across as the Annihilator from the first few tours back in the late 80`s and early 90`s.
