ROCKEZINE AT Waldrock

Waldrock is definitely one of the coolest festivals of The Netherlands. This year about 8.500 people travelled way out north to be at this cosy and well facilitated festival. One of their strong points is the 400 local volunteers that help out every year to bring this day to a success. And they obviously love to be part of this event, because they’re accurate and very friendly. And that brushes of on the whole atmosphere. How great is it to be in the middle of farmland and meadows for a day of good music, nice people and… soccer. Because of the European soccer championship, the organisation planted a big TV screen to enable the visitors to see The Netherlands play. How client friendly can you be? Just like the clean toilets with paper and air refresher… I mean: if there’s one thing on everybody’s list of disgust, it must be festival toilets. The organisation considered everything, without doing any damage to the primitive festival spirit. They’ve been looking and listening very well to their visitors for the last 17 years and that shows. Also a great billing: something for every one.
The sad news was the last minute cancellation of Testament. But on the whole: a big thumbs up for Waldrock as a whole. Astonishing that not more people took the drive to our countryside to experience this. But maybe that’s also part of the strength of this festival.
