Rockezine festival review: Wāldrock on Jun 04, 2005

ROCKEZINE AT Wāldrock
This is it, embarrassment kicks in. Ladies and gentlemen, this was my first Wāldrock (and my first festival for Rockezine). The line-up this year was absolutely marvelous; Mastodon, Strapping Young Lad, Life Of Agony, Meshuggah, Dio and Megadeth to name a few. What could possibly go wrong?

Well, to answer that question, I can be very short. RAIN! Not in the big day itself, but the Friday before the festival. It almost seemed as if it wouldn`t stop! So when we arrived at Wāldrock it was all muddy and wet and there was a lot of wind. I`ve seen better conditions for a festival, but then again what is a festival without a bit of rain and mud.

Wow, that was some great party! We only had rain for an hour in the early evening, so luckily we weren`t soaked. I really enjoyed my first Wāldrock and I hoped my colleague Roy had as much fun as I did. Except for a little incident during Dimmu Borgir, the crowd was good and the atmosphere was great!

I`m there next year!
