“Finally a band again that uses electro in a dark emotional manner without looking to the commercial (dance) scene. That earns respect…” Those were my last words in the CD review of “Für Die Nacht Gemacht”. MONDSUCHT released one of the best CD’s of this year and we don’t need another reason to ask the members some questions, now do we?
		Can you tell us something about your history? I noticed that you started in 1998 and that you released with "Für Die Nacht Gemacht" your second full-length CD. (Olaf) We started in 1998 with our first Maxi-CD "Totentanz" and thereafter we released the full-length album "Willkommen Im Jenseits". In 2001 we released our second Maxi-CD "Nachtfalter" with the hypnotic song "Beast" and then came the last CD: "Für Die Nacht Gemacht".
		"Für Die Nacht Gemacht" sounds dark, distant and sometimes threatening. Can you tell us more about the topics? You start with the falling of the night and you end with the beginning of the day, so I`m curious. (Astrid) The topics are fear, dreams and longing. The concept is the night and all topics have got something to do with the night; because the most important things happen by night.
		How did the writing process go for "Für Die Nacht Gemacht"? Is it a real band effort, or… (Robert) Yes it is. Most of the time we were talking about our ideas. After that, I developed some tracks and then we worked it out together. The arrangement of each song was teamwork; and the selection of the sounds, too.
		What are your main influences in music? (Mondsucht) We want to have fun. That is the most important influence in our music.
		You are already working on the third album, at least according to your website, can you tell us more about that? When will it be released? (Robert) Hopefully next spring or summer. It depends on various things.
		Your music does sound a bit theatrical. Do you use that element during your live shows? (Olaf) We have up til now not done any live performances…
		Do you have any touring plans for the near future? (Olaf)...and we have no plans to do them in the near future.
		There`s an item in the news that Goths aren`t all depressed, how happy are you? (Robert) Most of the time we are as happy as possible. Being depressed is sometimes funny too, isn’t it? ;-)
		Do you actually live off your music? I saw that Olaf is a DJ as well. It would be great doing nothing but music. In this state of our career it is not possible however.
		(Astrid) Olaf surely lives by his work as a DJ and our music. He is a DJ since 1992, so music is, with the exception of his girlfriend, the most important thing in his life. But we don’t speculate about being able to live from our music. The most important thing is that we have fun while making it and that people like our music.
		Something you always wanted to say, but never was asked. (Mondsucht) To help other people is the only way to change the world into a better place, so start as soon as you can if you too are longing for that.
