Dimension F3H
with Morfeus on Apr 16, 2003

former Limbonic Art mastermind Morfeus decided to take a different approach to metal with Dimension F3H. A highly original project that turmed into a band and that recently released "Reaping The World Winds", a record that takes metal to a new dimension.

First obvious question: what happened with Limbonic Art? Why did you decide to call it a day?
There is really not so much more to say, we have probably grown a little too much to each our own side. Daemon is a very old school metal type, and I am probably the complete opposite. In time I guess that difference grew more present. In the end we decided that it would be in our best interest to stop, and this was a good time for us, as we had completed our goals, our contracts, and everything was set for a new beginning. We both have projects that we are active in, and the interest lies more on those things than on Limbonic Art.

are you still in contact with Daemon or has the demise of Limbonic Art broken all bonds between you two?
We are still in touch, but we are also very busy. Each with our own sides / things, so there is little time for socializing.

Where does the name Dimension F3H stand for?
The name is something that I will not really reveal just yet, I have some plans for it that requires it to be hidden still for a little while. All I can say is that it is some sort of other dimension, where I can let my imagination run free, and in the centre of that dimension there is a big mansion. Very sick things happen in there......

Is Dimension F3H a real band or is it your solo-project with session members?
It is a band, but I am the sole writer for that band. The band also includes some session-members to help us out live. I see some more collaboration with the other members in the future, but it will always be `mine`...

What musical background do both Nesmoht and Stian have?
I think that Mr. Thunderforce is the only one of us that is educated, but I`m not really sure what kind of education he has had. He plays mainly in a band called Pagan`s Mind, a very hot and upcoming power-metal band in Norway, and also in quite a few other projects here and there. Mr. Nesmoht is singing in Arch Nemesis, which he is also the co-founder of, along with Mr. Motcind, our session guitarist. Mr. Nesmoht has been singing probably all his life, and is probably the most "straight" metal guy in the band... :O)

With so much electronic influences and multi layered vocals, is it even possible to play the songs live? Or do you have to make rearrangements to the tracks?
We will have the electronics running on a tape, and leave it with that. We had a session keyboardist in the beginning, but when he decided to leave the band, we decided to run everything from the tape. Most of the stuff would be run from tape anyhow. I will probably do some re-arranging of the songs, as some parts of them don`t really run smoothly on a live basis, but only time will tell what will happen.

Are there any plans to come over to the Netherlands. After all, you label is a Dutch one...
No plans just yet, but I`d be surprised if we didn`t play in Holland in the near future...

What fans are you hoping to attract? I think the standard metalhead and dance/electronic fan will think "Reaping the World Winds" is too electronic/metal? Is there a market for your kind of music or do you have to create it yourself?
I don`t really care who is attracted to the music, as long as they truly enjoy what they are listening to. I make music for my own amusement, and it is just a big bonus to be able to release albums, and that people enjoy it.

Hammerheart made the release of "Reaping the World Winds" the top priority release for April? What does this mean to you? An endless stream of interviews and promo obligations or are things still quiet for you?
I was a little surprised that they did so, and it felt somehow comforting; cause it shows that they have a strong belief in the album. At the moment I`m loaded with interviews all over, and I think that it will be more and more of these in the future... so it really means no sleep at all, he he...

Can we expect any extreme metal things from you or is the Dimension F3h style the best suited for you?
I`m not sure; I have some ideas popping up every now and then, and just because Limbonic Art stopped, doesn`t mean that I have totally finished with playing extreme music... time will tell...

Who came up with the cover art? I think it is a beautiful cover but the smiley face is ruining it all! Then again, it really stands out from the standard "vague Photoshop edited” kind of covers.
I did the cover myself, and it contains a little irony, a quite big part of it is personal, and also it is a little plain fantasy... You react to the smiley just as I expected it would, so it served its purpose...

Judging by "Reaping the World Winds" you have a very broad musical taste, what do you consider the main influences to the Dimension F3H sound? And what are you all time favourite (metal) albums?
It is virtually impossible to name any direct influences, but I listen to many different kinds of music, and I presume that they influence me in some way or another. I`m also very attracted to movies, books, and comics, and of course they have some kind of impact on what I create. I like to mix different styles, and see if I can come up with something that works...

Thanks for answering our questions and I hope to see you soon on stage in the Netherlands!
Thanx the same.. :O)
