Death By Stereo
with Tito on Nov 25, 2003

Death by stereo is an strange band on the resistance tour. Along with ‘tough guy bands’ like Sworn Enemy or Madball, they bring some humour and diversity with them. Already released 3 albums and still touring for nothing, I have some respect for this band. We interviewed Tito (guitar). He didn’t say much.
  Do you like Motorhead?
Of Course. I think everyone should love Motorhead! IF you don’t love Motorhead there is something wrong with you. These guys are in the running for more than 20 years.

Ok. About this tour. How is it going? I mean, you are playing along with Tough Guy Bands like madball or Sworn Enemy. How is the reaction on the audience?
It’s going great! We are respected by the fans of all the bands and we’re getting along with all the members. We definitely having a good time with members of Madball and Sworn Enemy. There is a lot of respect on this tour.

Cool. I just mentioned Death by Stereo is pretty different music from the standard Hardcore. You guys mix metal, punk, emocore etc. into one sound. Do you guys try to be original?
well. We have just some different influences and try to do what we like to do. That’s pretty much all. We like metal, we like hardcore, so this is the result

What do you think, or do you know, (of) the hardcorescene in Holland?
I don’t know much names. But we know Backfire. Those are nice guys.

Ok. Something different. How is the distribution of Epitaph going?
Epitaph is doing a great job for us. Everyone can buy our records everywhere, and that is cool for a band. They do a lot of promotion, and are still an concerned as an underground label.

Okay. Question about the crowd. How is the crowd in Europe compared to the US?
In Europe, there’s more respect for eachother. In the States, it’s more aggressive. We love the corwd in Europe, they are going pretty crazy sometimes too.

At last, do you have some crazy tour stories?
Well, once we were in a bar. I was talking to this nice lady. Suddenly a glass was being throwed from the bar to our heads. I said ‘it’s getting loose now, take cover’. And suddenly, everyone started to fight. It was like a movie scene, guys were shoving over the bar, chairs were being throwed. It was pure madness.
