About month ago I heard that Nemesea joined something that’s called Sellaband. I was very curious about this concept and I also wanted to know why the band isn’t playing live at this moment. So it was time for your rockezine.com reporter to have a mail conversation with guitar player Martijn.
		Please introduce yourself and the band. I´m Martijn and I´m one of the guitarplayers in Nemesea. The other members are Manda (vocals), HJ (guitar), Sonny (bass-guitar), Berto (keys), Steven (drums).
		Nemesea is the first band that joined the Sellaband concept. What’s Sellaband exactly? Sellaband is a unique concept which invites music fans to be a part of their favourite band. So called ´believers’ can buy a share (also more than one of course) of a band for ten dollars a piece. When a band reaches 50000 dollars a cd will be recorded and the music will also be available to download for free. The shareholders and the band will be making money dependent on the advertising revenues and marketing share the band holds. So if you want to know more about Sellaband check their site!
		Are you satisfied the way the fans react that you joined Sellaband? I think we should be. As you can see on the Sellaband site we’ve sold over 8500 parts in less than four weeks. So people are very enthusiastic. As always you cannot please everyone so a few fans don’t like us being part of this great concept.
		Why isn’t Nemesea playing live at the moment? Nemesea is working hard on writing new songs. In the future we will be recording a new album, which will be our second. Till then we won’t be playing because the old songs won’t match with the slightly different path we’re turning into. And people like to hear something new.
		How was touring with After Forever? Touring with After Forever was great. We were very lucky with the opportunity to play with this band. Nemesea just started and already was playing in big venues, sometimes for more than a thousand people. A lot of AF fans also liked Nemesea. So we’ve build up quite a big fanbase.
		What’s the best gig you ever played? I honestly can’t tell. There were many great gigs. Playing in the Oosterpoort (Groningen, NL) and with Within Temptation (Emmen, NL) was fun!
		What’s the biggest influence for Nemesea? I don’t think you can say there’s one main influence. All the members of Nemesea like a large variety of music. And, although Nemesea sounds heavy and fits in the rock/metal scene, you can hear many other influences.
		Which album is in your compact disc player at this moment? Vinnie Moore: Mind’s Eye. He’s a great guitar player.
		What are the future plans for Nemesea? Nemesea is working hard on new songs and trying to reach the 50000 dollars with Sellaband. Nemesea is always taking new challenges so we’ll see. But playing a lot of gigs and reaching many people is a certain thing for the future.
		Is there something I can wake you up for at night? No! Well…, maybe pizza.
