| Please introduce yourself and the band. Hi, my name is Frankie and I do vocals for Emmure. | |||
| A few weeks ago you were in the studio with Zuess. How was working with Zuess? Yeah we were having a great time with Zeuss up at Planet Z. The entire recording process was just so surreal. Zeuss doesn’t just produce great albums, he makes legends. He pulls the soul and fire out of every band he records with and makes sure it’s the best it can fucking be. We are so grateful for the opportunity to work with him. Much respect to big poppa Zeuss. | |||
| How does the new album sound? It sounds unreal. It’s the album we always wanted to make. It’s honest, brutal and uncompromising which is what Emmure has and always will be. | |||
| From your point of view, what is your favourite track on the new album and why? My favourite track personally is a song titled ‘It’s not just a party it’s a funeral’ - it’s lyrically the most touching song for me. I don’t feel too comfortable explaining at this time what the song is about since the subject of the song still sit`s very strong in my mind. But I will say that although the content of the album may seem very dark, the entire premise of this CD is about moving forward and leaving all the negative bullshit in your life behind. It’s something I think a lot of people deal with day by day and I hope that people can grasp the positive message that is hidden beneath the surface. | |||
| When can we expect the new album and on which label? March 6th on Victory Records. | |||
| Why did you decide to release it on Victory Records? It’s pretty simple, Victory Records is the strongest and hardest working label in the country, I couldn’t imagine another label putting out this record. Goodbye To The Gallows will be the heaviest release by Victory Records in 2007 that is a promise. | |||
| What are the plans until the release and what are the plans after the release?
Well we are going to be touring in support for our release before and after it comes out. We’ve got a sweet tour with our buddies in My Bitter End and For The Fallen Dreams and then its more touring with our friends in All the Heathers Are Dying. If anyone is unfamiliar with those bands go check their myspaces a.s.a.p!
| Who would you name as your influences? Everyone in the band listens to different stuff when we are at home doing our own thing. But as a whole we got inspired a lot by bands like Bury Your Dead, My Bitter End and Ion Dissonance just to name a few. We pull influences from everywhere honestly. | |||
| Is this band your job or do you have some other shitty job at home.
Haha, man that is a great question! Well yes Emmure is my full time job, although it’s harsh to come home from tour and have no job, no money, not much to do. I use my time here at home to vedge out, see my choice friends and just relax. Nothing feels better than hitting your bed after 8 weeks on the road haha.
| Do you enjoy playing live? How is a typical Emmure live performance? Performing is the reason I wanted to be in a band in the first place. Every member of Emmure brings there own swagger and style on stage. We try to make the show as enjoyable as possible. It’s all about good energy both in the crowd and on stage. I grew up admiring bands that knew how to really get into their music. I can’t imagine ever being on stage and standing still, we’ve played shows in front of audiences of five or less people and I still find myself going apeshit to our music. It’s always going to be that way. | |||
| Anything left to say? Thanks to rockezine.com for giving us this oppurtunity. Shout out to everyone at Victory and thank you to everyone reading, hope to see you on the road. | |||
