| Please introduce yourself and the band. I`m Terence Holler, the lead vocalist of the band Eldritch. Next we got Eugene Simone on lead guitars, Pek Proietti handles rhythm guitars, John Crystal plays bass and Dave Simeone on drums. | |||
| "Blackenday"? is your seventh album already. What’s the biggest difference when compared to the first? There`s a really big difference. The first album was recorded in 1994 with a different line-up and a totally different musical approach and technique. Now our music is more heavy and easy listening, in that era we were totally non-commercial and progressive. With the first three albums you had to be a diehard progmetal listener to understand us, but now we`re extremely catchy and easy to get along with. There`s a big change. | |||
| Are you satisfied the way this record turned out? Yes, extremely! It sounds great, thanks to the help of R.D. Liapakis and Christian Schmid at Music Factory studios in Germany. It sounds clear and aggressive at the highest quality. The songs are great and there are a lot of potentially hit singles on it. With this record we`ll surely get into a huge number of metal listeners. | |||
| Who made the artwork and what does it express? The artwork was made by Davide Nadalin from Nerve design CO., Italy. This guy is awesome. He made also the new Threshold artwork. It expresses the sadness of a day gone bad, reaching the end of everything, near death. | |||
| What band or album is your biggest influence? Well, it`s hard to choose just one. I could say we were influenced by bands like early Metallica, Queensryche, Fates Warning, Faith No More, Annihilator, Coroner, Machine Head, Pantera, Dokken and more. My personal inspiration as singer is from guys like Mike Patton, Ray Alder, Don Dokken, Rob Halford, James Hetfield and Geoff Tate. | |||
| What can we expect from Eldritch in the near Future? We`ll travel the world for playing, then more music albums and videos. We love this job. Of course we`ll develop our sound album after album, like we did with the first seven records. We don`t like to be repetitive or boring. | |||
| Is Eldritch your job or do you have some job at home? It`s more or less our main job, but in the free time some of us have temporary jobs or hobbies where we could increase our pockets. Music business is getting difficult because of the file sharing and the free downloading. So it`s better to help us out somehow. | |||
| How is the metal scene in Italy? Right now it`s growing and bigger bands like Rhapsody Of Fire and Lacuna Coil have opened the doors of global success to other acts like: Eldritch, Labyrinth, Domine, Exilla, Vision Divine and more. Something finally changed and now we’re not only spaghetti, nice girls, sun, soccer and mafia anymore. | |||
| Is there something you want to say to the readers of our e-zine? I`d like to tell you readers to check out our new album "Blackenday"? and give us a chance, you won`t get disappointed at all. I swear to God. Cheers and thanks to everyone. | |||
