Vomitory
with Peter on Jun 28, 2007

Please introduce yourself and the band.
Hi I´m Peter, the new guitarist in Vomitory.

Can you describe the type of music that you play?
We play Death Metal. Some like to label us Brutal Death Metal but we just say Death Metal plain and simple.

What are you expectations from the upcoming release on Metalblade records?
We hope to sell more records than the previous release and to get out and tour and play festivals.

This is not your first release on Metalblade, are you satisfied the way Metalblade promotes the previous albums?
Yes of course, because in the end it´s up to us to work hard to get our music heard and our band noticed. If we were to sit on our asses and expect Metal Blade to do all the work for us we would be sadly mistaken. It doesn´t work that way unless you´re a cheesy popstar that´s just a product being exploited by a major recordcompany.

Do you ever associate good feedback with good sales or there isn`t always a relation between feedback and sales? If yes, how many albums did you sold till now?
No we don´t associate good feedback with good sales. Great music doesn´t always sell a lot of records. Look at that boyband Westlife for example. Their music, wich they don´t even write themselves, is the worst vomit inducing crap ever and they sell millions of records.

In your opinion, has the band developed through years, and if so, then how?
Of course! The music is basically the same but the big difference is that we´re better musicians.

Are there any clear differences in comparison with the previous release?
I guess we think that we have a better production and stronger songwriting.

Can you describe the creative process of making this album? (How did the songs get written, arranged, produced, the lyrics. who does what in the band?)
Tobias (Gustafsson, Drums) wrote seven of the songs and I wrote three of them. Erik (Rundkvist, Vocals & Bass) wrote almost all the lyrics exept for two songs were I wrote the lyrics for one song and Tobias wrote for the lyrics for one song also. As far as the arranging goes it´s different for every song. Some songs were arranged together and some not. The album were produced by us and Rickard Löfgren.

Did you ever visit www.rockezine.com? What’s the best and what’s the worst part about this site.
The site looks great but you should have more stuff about Vomitory haha....Cheers!
