| Can you tell me something about yourself and the band? Where there is a lot I can tell you but lets just stick to the new album for now ;) We are going into the studio on the 1st of September 2007. We have been hard at work trying to get everything organised ourselves cause as we know we’re not signed to a major label so promo and stuff like that is purely the band’s problem. | |||
| How is the metal scene in South Africa? It’s REALLY picking up so much, Last year we had Metallica playing in front of 40 000 + fans in Johannesburg alone! This year we have Blind Guardian coming through. So yeah in terms of international bands playing in South Africa I would rate it is AWESOME thus far... In terms of fans in this country I must state that it has also been picking quite a bit. Seeing that the hard rock/ metal community in SA is only so big. I would say in the past 3 years or so most local band’s fan bases have increased about 4 times more. | |||
| What was the first metal band you ever heard of? Well, personally the first hard rock music I heard was 80’s rock bands like WASP, Motley Crue you know stuff like that and then I started getting into the death metal side of things | |||
| Are there any big concerts in South Africa? OH YES, We have about 5 annual big shows in the country... In the beginning of the year South Africa showcased the largest music festival in Africa... but this sadly did not include any metal bands. GrimFest (Metal Only), Motherfudd (Metal Only), Woodstock, Oppikoppi, The Summoning (Metal Only) and of course the Nightfall Festival (Metal Only) | |||
| Are there some talented bands you need to mention and we need to check out? OH YES For sure. You can check out the following: Mind Assault, Ancient Influence, Deity’s Muse, Warthane, Agro, New Born Fire and Contrast The Water | |||
| The Well Of Sacrifice was released in 2004. Is there anything changed since then? Yeah we got older! | |||
| When can we expect a new Sacrifist album? The album is much heavier than “The Well Of SacriFice”, more technical and the album has more variety, even an acoustic piece. So yeah keep a look you might just like what you hear. | |||
| What are the future plans for the band? Well after the recording the band is planning on a national tour and after that we are making plans to visit the States and hopefully the UK as well. | |||
| Is there something you really want to say to our readers? The last lines are for you... Thank you so much for your support. It sounds cheesy but we mean it. Myspace: www.myspace.com/sacrifistband | |||
