You don’t need a lot to make a nice album: drums, bass, a guitar and vocals. Three people should do the trick; and they do on this album. Big time. Okay, so some of the guitars are dubbed and there are some backing vocals here and there. The basics are however clear and more than enough to make this a very worthwhile album. Very lo-fi, but that is just how they really sound. In hindsight, you can’t get much closer to a live sound with a studio album than this. Forgive me if this doesn’t make much sense, I just don’t know what else to make of it. This just is a very easy, simple album.

Well, not entirely, in its own way it has its rough edges, but – let me see here - more in a club kind of way than a stadium-sized venue. Does that make sense? I hope so. Picture someone rocking away with his (or her) guitar, backed only by the necessary drums and bass and there you have it, the new Throwing Muses. No, no, no, forget all that. For those who know what they sound like but want to know if the album is any good: they played most of the songs on this album at a live gig and they blended it in with the rest seamlessly. So that’s a definite yes; this album is good.
