If anyone mentions AC/DC, Motörhead and Rose Tattoo he sure has my attention. So when this album dropped in the REZ- mailbox, I jumped to the opportunity and snatched it. Let’s see if the band fulfill their promise.

Of course Gun Barrel is not an exact copy of either one of the aforementioned bands, but boy do they come close. Every song has that dirty rock quality, that quality that makes you think of stadium-sized venues. Hard to imagine the band playing smaller gigs, the music is just not right for intimacy. The same goes for their predecessors.

There’s even a hint of Monster Magnet in track number four, starting off almost identical to MM’s “Drug Farm”. Coincidence or not, they know how to make their songs sound real big. Except for the main riff the song is completely different by the way, so don’t worry. I don’t think I have to say any more than this, you should get the point. Gun Barrel have pulled it off, which is an achievement on its own, but knowing that such music can come from Germany makes it almost a miracle.
