A big, flashy white sticker on the front of this MCD screams "Featuring an Icon of Coil remix". Funny, because it’s exactly this band that has been the major influence for mastermind Richard Bjirklund. Now, it’s of course always good to capture the buyer’s attention with a band like IOC. The title track of this release features as a warm-up for the upcoming Elements Of Truth debut by Spektralized. Also included are a radio edit and an extra song in the shape of "Truth v2.0". Both `normal` songs show the band’s experience, resulting in two dance-floor hits. Something so hardly found on a debut release. | |
The band, drawn to attention by Apoptygma Berzerk, waited 9 years for the ideal time to present their material. While warming up for Icon of Coil in Sweden, band leader Richard figured that the time to release `his` material had come. And the right time it is. Whereas Icon of Coil recently presented their new album, Spektralized deserve to get some time in the spotlight as well. The two original versions on this MCD sound damn catchy. If the rest of their debut album sounds like this, I for one will welcome it with open arms.
