Mana Erg is one of those bands that cannot be put into one particular genre. Their fourth CD so far, “Borderliners”, contains 6 songs which are a blend of electronics and gothic with influences of Air and David Bowie. Do you still get it? If you do, this is a CD for you! It is a risky combination, but this CD rocks!
Bruno De Angelis, the wizard behind all this, manages to create a whole new sound, which is perfect for people like me, who like a bit of everything. | |
It is quite an experience to hear the exact sound that you like!
It is just too bad that the songs are all somewhat similar; the same singing style, the same sounds. As there are only six tracks, I would have thought De Angelis could have come up with some more different sounds.
However, it does not spoil the fun of listening to this album, that is why I rate it an 8.
