It is logical that Das Ich doesn’t need an introduction at all. Already on the road for somewhat like 15 years, this German duo recently released a best-of double CD that shows why this band is still so popular after such a long period. The combination of old and new material is very good, seeing the appearance of both songs like "Garten Eden" and "Das Dunkle Land" (from last year’s "AntiChrist"), as well as "Kain Und Abel" and "Die Propheten" ("Die Propheten" from ‘91). All the songs in between are featured too of course, and there’s no doubt this collection will create loads of new fans. The strong performance of the dark wave-electro is still satisfying, the mechanical beats are heavy and dark, and Stefan’s voice fits perfectly with the lyrics (sung in German) as well as the music.

To get a better collector value, there’s a bonus CD added with some unreleased material; a new remix of "Sodom Und Gomorra", the contest winner (Ancient Gallery) that remixes "Der Schrei", the already known single version of "Destillat" (no, it is not remixed by VNV Nation) and a live performance of "Lügen Und Das Ich" at Mera Luna 2002. A nice addition, but most attention will go towards the first disc, which leaves no doubt of the quality of this band. Simply the BEST of Das Ich.
