I have known this band for quite a while now, since they rehearse in the same place as I do. Mainly, they produce just a lot of noise, so I was curious how they would sound on CD. And that’s not bad at all; finally I can hear what they are actually playing!
Their sound can be best described as groovy nu-metal. All four songs are built on the same principle, which makes it difficult to differentiate between them. But these guys know how to play, so if you like nu-metal, you should check this out. | |
Personally, I think some parts could use double-bass drums all along, which would make them more powerful; can’t have it all of course.
The sound on this CD is very clear, which is logical; it’s recorded in the infamous Harrow Studios by Gilo themselves and Marc ter Braak. Good job. More info about this band can be found on http://www.gilo.nl. (Roelof) |
