And another Polish band claiming to be the conqueror of the Polish Death Metal throne.... So, are they really the new kings? I think not, we all know it’s still tightly in Vader’s hands although this album shows the promise that they someday might be the top Polish extreme metal band.
In fact this is one of the best albums I’ve heard so far this year.
On “Ûbermensch (Death Of God)” Lost Soul delivers 12 tracks of raging Death metal, spiced up with the occasional black metal touch.
If you take Morbid Angel, mix it with Vader (of course!) and then take the most aggressive bits and slap it onto a CD, you’ll get an impression of how Lost Soul sounds.
Singer Jacek Grecki sounds a lot like Eric Rutan (Morbid Angel, Hate Eternal) but also has a mean grind core scream, which he utilizes to make the music even more aggressive than it already is. | |
Oddly enough, the occasional keyboard parts remind me a lot of our own Dutch pride Liar Of Golgotha (do they still exist?) and really contribute to the massive sound. I wonder if the keyboards are present at live gigs because I don’t see a keyboard player in the line up.
The production is very, very heavy but still is clear enough to easily distinguish each instrument, the way metal of this kind should sound like.
Nothing more to say, I really like this album and so should you!
