The bio that was included with this CD states: ’from Stone Temple Pilots fans to Led Zeppelin Faithfulls’ and ‘the band are miles away from simple alternative rock’. Well… I think Stone Temple Pilots fans won’t listen to this CD even if they would get it for free. And Led Zeppelin Faithfulls? I can only laugh at that. This is the most uninspired, irritating, bitter sweet (in a negative way) piece of crap I’ve heard in a long, long time. Compared to this Nickelback and Default are top of the notch excitement. What’s so wrong with this CD? It’s everything; the irritating simple lyrics about how much he misses a girl or to find your place in this world. Vocalist Marc is a decent singer, but it doesn’t sound like he’s sincere. It sounds just like it’s his duty to sing these songs. The music is played save. No cool guitar riffs or drum patterns. Just save rock that you can expect from some new ‘Rock bands’ like Lifehouse and Train. | |
It sounds just too easy. My 7 year old cousin could play this music with his friends if he wouldn’t be hanging around playing hide and seek. On the other hand, it’s a perfect CD for your mother or family-in-law. It’s nice as background music while talking with your parents. But that’s not why music is made. I’ve listened a few times to this CD, but I couldn’t find any moment or song that was good or better than the rest (only “What I Deserve” is somewhere near good). It’s not good, but also not very bad, it’s less than decent. Fans of Lifehouse and Train will definitely like this music. But I want to hear originality and creativity in music. That’s not what I find in Suit Yourself. So, Stone Temple Pilots fans: just wait for the new Reloaded (Ex Guns ‘n’ Roses members with Scott Weiland on vocals) and Led Zeppelin Fans: just buy the new Cave In. But leave this CD where it is (and that is not in your CD-player!). (Friso) |
