Back in 1990, the debut album “Live Your Life Forever” was very promising. Founder Tommy Claus (Guitars) even got John Lawton (Uriah Heep) on vocals. In 1996 the fourth and last album until now, “Holy Rhythm Of Nature”, was released. After that it was quiet around ZAR.
In 2000 Tommy Claus gathered Andre Sauber (Vocals) and Lars Nippa (Drums) to bring ZAR back to life again. Another steady hard rock album is the final result. The vocals contain melody, and a bite when necessary. | |
The guitar work is very well preformed. No showing off, but everything in addition to the traditional and high quality song structures.
A varied album with a mix of mid tempo rockers and some more laid back songs. As a reference, the name Kingdome Come comes to mind. This because “Hard To Beat” will surely appeal to the traditional hard rock listeners who like some Led Zeppelin-like side steps. (Cor) |
