Scandinavia has a lot to offer on the field of future-pop industrial acts. There is Apoptygma Berzerk, Icon Of Coil, and now Spektralized as well. Based on the typical Apop-sound, there are several resemblances to the music of this band. Of course the relation to Icon Of Coil is quickly made due the production job by Sebastian Komor. Spektralized is a one-man band (live with three members) that started a while back and took almost 10 years to record this debut album. All situations had to be perfect, and mastermind Richard Bjørklund has used his time wisely. Although there is a lot of Apoptygma to be found in these 10 songs (and we have even heard the use of a female guest in “My Needs” and “Stardust” before…which band was that?) the potential of this record is great and should not be taken lightly.

Songs like “Learn And Teach” or the first single “Allied” (review of that MCD is online at this site, too) deserve to get picked up on the dancefloor. There is nothing left to say, except the words of Richard himself: “So here I stand to please you all”.. I think that kind of sums this whole record up. Buy it if you are an Apop- or Icon Of Coil fan.
