Inhumanity is actually this Finish band`s debut album. According to Listenable’s biography, Mors Principium Est plays melodic death metal. Listenable’s comparison with Soilwork and Children of Bodom is equally correct, but bands like At The Gates, Necrophobic and even Dimmu Borgir (for example the keyboard lines in Eternity’s Child) could be mentioned in relation to this band. Mors Principium Est presents ten excellent songs on this CD, opener "Another Creation" being my absolute personal favorite. The chorus riff is absolutely addictive. When I was listening to it for the hundred and fiftieth time in a row, my friends had to literally drag me away from the speakers while I was screaming: I AM CREATION!! I AM CREATION!! I AM, SERIOUSLY!!! AAARGH!! Sometimes music has that effect on me. | |
The rest is of the same calibre, with "In My Words", "The Lust Called Knowledge" and "Life in Black" rising far above mediocrity in this genre. The last song, "Into Illusion" is also remarkable, as it is far more modest than the rest of the album. It`s sort of a metal ballad that provides the listener with the much-needed peace and quiet after almost forty minutes of musical violence. Good job!
The album was produced in the famous Tico-Tico Studios in Finland. And what does that mean? Uhm, uhm, uhm, o yeah, good sound!
