When I first heard Nuclear Assault reunited, I was really excited. Nuclear Assault has been my favorite thrash band for years and I wondered whether they still would have the magic. I remember their gigs to be full of energy but a little messy as well. The sound tended to be rather dreadful fairly often. However, the band kicked ass all over the thrash scene in the second half of the eighties. Judging to this album, which has been recently recorded, they still have the magic. John Connely’s weird voice is still intact and the band’s unique guitar sound hasn’t lost its power.

The recording is made shortly after the reunion and I must say they are a little off rhythm at times. (I’ve seen them play a couple of weeks ago and meanwhile they’ve toured and play a lot tighter). The track listing is really a best of; there are only songs from the first three full lengths and from The Plague mini-album. Although this means that none of the songs are written after 1989, this album is more than a nostalgic trip. Nuclear Assault seems to be alive and kicking and I’m looking forward to their next studio album!
