There is no need to introduce Suicide Commando. This Belgian act formed around main man Johan Van Roy, proved its quality with albums such as "Construct-Destruct", "Stored Images" and - most of all - "Mindstrip". However, after 2001`s "Love Breeds Suicide" we have gotten very few signs of life from this band. During Eurorock last year, a new song was played and now it is that song that`s been released as a warming-up for "Axis Of Evil", the new album which should be released at the end of 2003.
The result of this single is available in two formats: one or two CD`s. Both versions include 5 songs, of which most are remixes. Disc 1 features the normal version, a very slow, new song "Deliver Us From Evil" and three remixes. | |
All of these remixes aren`t quite new club hits, except for the remix by Tactical Sekt, which is, without any doubt, the best of the three.
Disc 2 features 4 remixes and a demo of a forthcoming "Axis Of Evil"-song entitled "Sterbehilfe". Indeed, another German song that cannot match the quality of "Dein Herz, Mein Gier". The title track is a song that isn`t quite so accessible as previous material. The link towards "Mindstrip" is easily made, but this song is less dancy, more trancy and reminded me of the new songs on "Love Breeds Suicide" more than often. Simple, monotone and harsh. The general idea of this single isn`t so positive as I hoped for then. Nice to listen, but no more than that.
