Wow, in the category ‘screaming your lungs out’ Cliff Rigano is one of the kings. What an impressive, strong voice filled with variation. Screaming and shouting out his pain and anger, but also finding the voice to put down a melancholic ballad in the end (‘Goodnight’). Sometimes DRY KILL LOGIC matches the heaviness of Slipknot, but this CD has absolutely more variation in it. The dark emotions seem all too real on this one. Best songs of the record are probably ‘Track 13’ and ‘Give Up, Give In, Lie Down’, because all the elements of the band (heavy and soft) are combined in these two songs. | |
Before you condemn this band to the new metal breed we have to add that DRY KILL LOGIC got some typical hardcore influences as well. The music and the voice of Cliff sometimes remind of acts like Pro-Pain and Drown. In the end DRY KILL LOGIC provides technically and musically a statement that can’t be denied if you are into the heavier side of nonsense. That heavy also means depth shows the beautiful last song ‘Goodbye’: “It makes no difference, wrong or right. I guess it’s best we say goodnight”. (Beautevil) |
