I normally don’t really like self-produced, home-copied albums that come with no artwork and still claim their release to be the future of darkwave. Exception: Dein Schatten. This project based around the aging Bornzero is one of the releases of this year that fits in that specific “you should know this band”-category. Why? Because the man proves he is capable of creating loads of atmosphere and puts loads of quality in these 14 songs.
The 14 songs on this album feature “Woanders Sein” in two versions, and there are outstanding performances of “Dein Schatten”, “Ewiges Eis” and a cover; “My Name is Luc(if)a”. | |
The music is a mixture of modern EBM, mixed with old darkwave influences, as well as the use of guitars, strings and, most importantly, the charismatic voice of Bornzero.
A tip for people that are into the genres mentioned, or just want to explore the way atmospheric music is combined with tradional cold electro. More info on www.dein-schatten.de. (Eelco) |
