Finally it`s there, the new album from the Drab Four from Brooklyn, NY. It has been 4 years since their latest studio effort World Coming Down (OK there were some new tracks on their best of "The Least Worse Of..."). "Life Is Killing Me" is their last album of the long term contract main man Peter Steele signed with Roadrunner Records way back in the 80`s (signed with blood and sperm, that was). In most cases the last album of a band is a "best of" and in some way "Life Is Killing Me" is a best of Type O Negative.

The production and sound is very much alike to World Coming Down and the songs themselves take you back to the "Bloody Kisses" or "October Rust" albums.

There are more up-tempo songs (I Don`t Wanna Be Me (the first single), I Like Goils) more sixties psychedelica (Todd`s Ship Gods, IYDKMIGTHTKY) and of course your typical Type O Negative anthems like Anesthesia or the title track. The obligatory cover is also there (Angry Inch by Hedwig And The Angry Inch)

I could go on by telling that the lyrics are gloomy as ever, Josh Silver does the most fantastic sound scapes, John Kelly`s drumming is tighter than ever and Kenny Hickey`s guitar is tuned lower than low but you`d probably know that already. There`s nothing more to say than that this album is more Type O Negative than Type O Negative ever was.
