Slow, heavy and smooth; that’s the best way to describe Voodooshock’s doom. The album is well produced but never too clean, the music is varied and always (even in the long epic songs) to the point. The clean and relaxed vocals of Uwe Groebel contribute to the dreamy atmosphere of the music. Voodooshock reminds me of the first two Electric Wizard records; you don’t need to scream or grunt to make heavy music. | |
The combination of catchy riffs and mellow parts make the record very dynamic, and the intriguing cover version of Moody Blues’s ‘Nights In White Satin’ is as surprising as it is good. A very fine record that will appeal to people outside the doom scene as well. (Walter) |
