It is weird that German rock is somehow quickly associated with Rammstein. And straight from opener “Du Bist Da” it’s this band that comes to mind. Besides Die Krupps and a very noticeable bastard version of Placebo, there’s a link with a few gentle electro-bands as well. On “Ich Bin Gott” we see a similarity to Assemblage 23, whilst “Strom” sounds like Das Ich with guitars.
The band is taking the best from both sides and a song like “Strom” only proves this is the album’s main strong point. | |
No good points without bad things, however. The general sound on this album is very good, but the songs all sound the same; a bit more variation would have been nice.
I personally think this is a very strong release by a very young band, and I guarantee you that we’ll hear a lot more from Dossche in the (near) future! Recommendable for people who are wondering what Rammstein’s electronic brother sounds like.
