“Passengers” is Mostly Autumns latest album. Looking back at their previous releases it’s good to hear that the basic characteristics, Gilmouresque guitar playing and beautiful female vocals are again exploited to their maximum. The tracks on the album are alternating in tempo. Personally I prefer the modest songs on the album like “Bitterness Burnt” (Celtic influences and great violin play) and “Simple Waves”, a slow track which develops into a magnificent guitar solo and a floating end. Nevertheless I’m sure that the up-tempo songs will gain my absolute appreciation when they are performed live on stage. | |
Absolute highlight of the album is the final track “Pass The Clock”. This song is divided in three sections and works towards a final climax. “Pass The Clock” combines all the good qualities of Mostly Autumn. “Passengers” has become an appealing album and is probably the best Mostly Autumn release so far. Take a look at the excellent homepage www.mostly-autumn.com for some sound clips of the album. (Geert) |
