The subtitle of this promo CD is ‘New Signings & Upcoming Releases’. Considering the fact that I’m usually quit positive about the releases by AFM records, I had some expectations when I received this CD. I was a bit disappointed when I found out that the album contained only four unreleased songs. These are tracks by U.D.O. (a live track), Dark At Dawn, Dionysus and Voice. The rough mix taken from the January 2004 release by Dionysus sounds most promising. A selection of other bands that is included on the disc: Annihilator, Edguy, Circle II Circle, At Vance and Nostradameus.

For information on these outtakes, there are full album reviews of these bands on our site. One must say that this compilation album is a nice release for people who aren’t familiar with the work of AFM records. It would have been a better release if at least half of the 16 tracks would have been taken from upcoming releases. Maybe next time?
