Sear is the name of the band, “Until The Dust Lies...” is the name of their EP. Remember these names; I’m sure you’ll hear them again in the near future! What is there to tell about this EP.? Well first of all, it’s too short. I can’t help it, but every time I play the EP I long for more. More of those beautiful vocals by Michelle Richfield, more of that great emotional and dramatic guitar play by Tom Allen and most of all, more off those moving atmospheres. Secondly the band states that they are influenced by Tool, Massive Attack’s “Mezzanine” and Pink Floyd, and they are right. | |
Listening to the record one could also add albums like “A Fine Day To Exit” by Anathema and Opeth’s “Damnation” as a reference. Finally, despite all the references, Sear has created a magnificent EP with a sound which is clearly their own. I for one will definitely keep my eyes on these guys and so should you.
