With a magical touch of the (becoming) metal god himself, Devin Townsend, Lamb Of God returns with its highly anticipated new album "As The Palaces Burn". With its predecessor "New American Gospel", how ironically, Lamb Of God already marked themselves as a great addition to the present metal scene. With this new release they even beat themselves. Whilst listening to "As The Palaces Burn" I am already curious how their next album will sound.

Together with fellow metal bands Shadows Fall, Killswitch Engage, Chimaira and Soilwork, Lamb Of God is part of a very interesting new breed of metal that is ready to conquer the world. Combining elements ranging from metal to hardcore to thrash, Lamb Of God were able to create an astonishing atmosphere on their new epos.

From the album’s opener "Ruin" (my personal favourite) to its last "Vigil" they continue on full speed. Staccato drums, blistering guitar riffs, groovy bass and a vocalist that alters screams with deep growls in combination with dark lyrics are an impressive summing up of the band’s sound. Not to forget the great production of Mr. D himself. I can go on and on with this list, but you just have to experience this yourself. If you consider yourself to be a metal fan, just take some time to listen to this record, because without a doubt it’s worth every second you’re listening to it.
