Horror movies have always been a huge influence on people. Many lyrics are inspired by the stories told in books or movies. Freddy VS Jason is a nice example for such a horror movie, but the music isn`t always as dark as the movie itself. Nevertheless this is a very nice soundtrack, because most of the songs are previously unreleased and that makes buying this record a lot more interesting.

Roadrunner compiled this album, which means that a lot of their bands are featured on this soundtrack. Dez Fafara`s new band, DevilDriver ("Swinging The Dead"), Killswitch Engage ("When Darkess Falls"), Type O Negative ("We Were Electrocute"), Sepultura featuring Mike Patton ("The Waste") Slipknot ("Snap Demo") are just a few of their own bands that made it to this compilation.

Other interesting bands include From Autumn To Ashes ("The After Dinner Payback"), In Flames ("Trigger"), Nothingface ("Ether"), Lamb Of God ("11th Hour") and Hatebreed ("Comdemned Until Rebirth"). Not all the songs featured on the soundtrack are previously unreleased, but that won`t harm the fun. Hardcore, metal, numetal, glam rock all go together and give us a nice overview of today`s hottest bands in the aforementioned genres.
