Well, I don’t know what to think of this record really… It appears to be one of those very cheap compilation albums you can find at any big mainstream record store. The sleeve doesn’t even carry the official logo or anything. That combined with the fact that it’s a collection of live recordings and studio outtakes… it all has quite a bootleg-like appearance to it. I even wonder if all the ‘live’ songs are really live; on some of the live songs the crowd doesn’t react to the music. | |
It sounds like someone just tuns up the sound when the band stops. Anyway, let’s give this record the benefit of the doubt. There’s some raw rock and roll going on on this record and just for that this album is a must for every Venom fan. If you’re not a fan you might want to have a listen first. And I must say that a release like this does raise hope of a new studio album by these legendary metal monsters! (Walter) |
