Two of the band members are into Polynesian Pop Art which explains the artwork. A pity the Polynesian influences are limited to the -very cool- artwork. The riff-based rock Paradise produces is pretty good but, as we put it in Dutch: “they didn’t invent the wheel”. Apart from the lack of originality there’s not much wrong with the album. | |
The riffs are catchy and form the basis of real songs with proper choruses and everything. The production is up to scratch as well. I just wish they’d put some of these musical influences from Polynesia into their songs. That would certainly spice things up a bit. (Walter) |
